Love knows no boundary; I couldn’t believe that it was me for the first time who gave someone my correct phone number.
I’m one of those people who always give strangers my long lost old phone number. I could say I have a PHD in saying out wrong numbers to people, but after a long conversation with this guy I finally gave him my number.
It was a chilly Friday morning when I was heading for town for an event. I was running late but I had no option than to wait for a kombi at the bus station to get me to town.
I waited for about 15 minutes nothing came, I became impatient and was already thinking of cancelling the journey because my body was aching I had travelled the previous day.
Suddenly a white private car pulled off the road for me. “Hey ma’am are you going town”? the owner of the car asked me to jump in.
The driver was a tall, dark and talkative guy.
He didn’t give me the chance to shut my mouth. He asked for every detail he felt he needed to know about me, where I was going, what for etc.
Before he dropped me off he asked for my phone number. “Ko can I have your number maybe we will hang out sometime you seem to be a nice person. I would love to know more about you,” he said. Without hesitation I say out loud my number…my correct number for the first time. (I was giving a stranger my correct number lol).
Besides that we had seen each other for the first time he asked me if I could escort him to watch a soccer game at the national sports stadium that evening but I turned down the offer because I wanted to rest from my previous journey but promised to compensate. (Imagine already promising a stranger to compensate).
I have never met someone who loved soccer as him. Growing up in a family of girls i never liked the game, but I’m now a number one fan.
At last I dropped off at my destination.
We seemed compatible, he was conversational so do I we didn’t struggle to get along with each other all what was left was a proper meet up.
The pain of losing someone you once loved haunted me every day, but this seemed as another chance of loving someone again and this time for good.
We finally planned and met.
I have never met someone as wonderful, hospitable and caring as him. I learnt to love again.
Finally I had found that person who calls and texts to check up on me. Seeing all my efforts appreciated became a dream come true, I had met the right person.
Loving him was the best thing I ever did and I have grown to love him more and more daily.
